Japan is a big name in auto manufacturing and cars manufactures by Japanese auto makers have been swamped in all world auto market for over forty years. During this period, many big names in auto industry have com and gone but Japanese automakers continue to enlarge their market share. Japanese cars are also highly accepted with a growing numbers of drivers attracted by their high quality and stability performance.

• Toyota : The largest automaker in the world is Toyota which is a maker of the Camry, Corolla, and a series of SUVs, trucks, cars and a van. Luxury cars are being produced under Lexus division while youth oriented cars are manufactured under SCION Division. More than 6,157,038 cars can be roll off the production line in a year.


• Honda: Two of the ever popular brands produced by Honda are Accord and Civic, followed by the Odyssey minivan, Ridgeline truck, the Element, and several other passenger vehicles. Acura is the name given to the luxury car division of Honda.


• Nissan – Drive a Dotsun and then decide. Until the 1980s, the North American nameplate was Dotsun, but was changed to Nissan to give it a more global name. The Sentra, Maxima, Pathfinder vehicles are among the best-selling cars. Infiniti is the luxury car division of Nissan. Presently Renault Motors of France owns a controlling stake in Nissan.


• Mitsubishi – Chrysler Corp. was the first in US to import Mitsubishi cars initially and then Mitsubishi started to sell its cars under name Mitsubishi in the 80s. Lance, Eclipse and Montero are top selling brands of Mitsubishi.


• Mazda – Some of the most well known Mazda models are Tribute, Miata and the “6”. Several Ford Company cars including Mercury Milan are also powered by Mazda 6’s Platform. Ford is an important stake holder of Mazda Company.


• Subaru – Top selling Subaru models are the Forester, Outback and Legacy. Subaru is well known for its all wheel drive. Subaru is owned by Fuji Heavy Industries but there is a 20 percent General Motors share two.


• Suzuki – General motors owned 20 % of Suzuki Motors share. Suzuki is well known not only for its cars but also for manufacturing of Motorbikes. Vitara is most appreciable branch of Suzuki. Suzuki has a great portion in Asian Auto industry and its have popular brands like Mehran, Cultus and Alto in Pakistan and Maruti Suzuki in India. Probably it would better to say Suzuki is the largest car importer for Pakistan and India


• Isuzu – At some time in history, Isuzu is one of the big importers of cars to the US but now those days are over. Currently Isuzu has a minuscule presence in US buts two brands, The Ascender SUV and I Series have a great sale. Again General motor owns a larger stake in Isuzu.
